Field Forensic’s explosives detection kits (E.L.I.T.E.™) are currently used by to screens passengers, baggage, incoming parcels, compartments, cabins, hotel rooms and so on. E.L.I.T.E.™ kits are also used to back-up instrumentation when down for calibration, cleaning, maintenance, or, when positive indications for explosives are given. K-9 explosives detection teams also use E.L.I.T.E.™ for verification of negatives and positive hits by dogs.
NIC search equipment includes telescoping mirrors and other devices that can used to inspect voids and compartments in vehicles and cargo; bomb blankets can he used to temporarily contain fragments from detonation of explosives devices.
