Description
Model TS100, TuffSyringe™, is the most durable manual SPME manipulator available. Each is constructed of stainless steel. Although very rugged, TuffSyringe™ is easily carried in a shirt or lab coat pocket. The end caps protect the TuffSyringe™ during storage and transport and the Teflon insert envelopes the SPME needle and prevents loss of the sample or contamination of the fiber. The TuffSyringe™ can be fitted with any of the Supelco SPME fiber assemblies designed for manual use; the hub color is visible for easy identification of the type of SPME fiber.
The TuffSyringe accepts SPME fibers and operates them and it also leaves a window such that the hub color on the fiber assembly can be seen (to identify the type os SPME fiber that’s installed).
Remove the two TuffSyringe™ o-ring end caps to take an SPME sample, then once the sample is taken, replace the two end caps. Thus the sample is sealed for transport, preserving the sample and protecting the very fragile SPME fiber assembly, to allow later analysis at the lab. TuffSyringe™ can also be used to inject the sample into the injection port of the gas chromatograph.
